First 26 Weeks
Week 1- Week 26

In These Last Days He Has Spoken to us by his Son

Yesterday I was in the Atlantic Ocean watching the power of the waves crashing to shore.  I had just read today's chapter...Hebrews 1, "In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways..." Standing in His ocean makes you feels small...and it helps us realize how big God is....  I felt a glimpse of the "largeness of God."  He speaks to us in "various ways." One way is through His marvelous creation...nature.

God has been communicating with His creation/ man...since the beginning.  How did God speak to us after the "Fall of Man"(Adam and Eve)?  He spoke through His creation...natureIn Psalms 19 it is written:

"The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world."

This passage tells us that God reveals Himself to everyone through His nature...sky, ocean, rocks, trees, flowers, babies...you name it....God is speaking through His creation to His children.

Next, God began to speak through the Prophets.  Then He sent His son, Jesus to earth, "but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son."

How does God speak to us today...in 2011?
1.He still speaks through His creation...nature.
2.He speaks to us through other Christians/ the Church
3.He speaks to us through prayer
4.He speaks to us through His word

In all the above methods God uses to speak to us.. ..He speaks through His Holy Spirit.
In all these ways He declares His glory through these methods of communication He communicates the glory of who He is....to us.  He sustains this communication through His word. If you do not hear from God...you need to slow down and tune in to the still small voice of His Holy Spirit.
