Week Two

As we read through Mark...try to change your approach of reading the word.  Our tendency is to read and try to gain knowledge of the facts about Jesus.  I would encourage you to focus more on knowing Jesus.     Is theere a difference?

If  we read everything we can about a public celebrity...we would know about them.  But would we really know them, personally?  If you met them on the street would they recognize you?  Probably not...unless you had spent time with them or maybe spoke with them in person or spoke with them over  the phone.

Many of us make the mistake of trying to gather up all the facts about Jesus.  There is nothing wrong with that...as long as we are also getting to know Him.  We want to know Him and be known by Him.  John 17:3 says,"Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."

Let's be reading to Know Him...the only true God!!!
